With this sloping site, the back yard fell far below the level of the main floor of the house. A new deck was added in the back to provide more easily accessible outdoor space while also improving the access to the backyard and to the garage and driveway. Doors below the deck provide access to the basement and storage for kayaks. Fencing with an arbor gate along the side of the house provides enclosure for the family dog and screening for the outdoor condenser units.
